In 2013 I began my perinatal career as a registered nurse specializing in obstetrics- labor & delivery. I am also a Certified Professional Midwife, certified doula, Evidence Based Birth Instructor, and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. As the owner of Labored With Love, concierge birth & lactation services, I support families within a 90 miles radius of Kansas City (KS & MO) no matter their desired birth setting. I am willing to consider further distances for families desiring homebirth.

Over the years through travel nursing, I have worked in different states at multiple hospitals as well as the local birthing center in my community. This has allowed me to learn a variety of skills in childbirth working with doctors, midwives, and families in different care settings. Whether women have high risk or low risk pregnancies my experience has equipped me with skills to help support any birth that may arise in any setting. As the first African American CPM in the state of Kansas and the 2nd to serve Kansas City in generations, it is important to me to make safe care more accessible to the underserved families in my community, bringing back the option for low intervention home birth.

I enjoy working with women throughout the various stages surrounding childbirth and it’s my honor to help educate and support you through your pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding journey. My desire is to help mothers and families to be as prepared as possible for any childbirth experience and help them to adjust thereafter. I am very open and willing to answer questions and address any expressed concerns. Sharing the birthing process and miracle of life is a passion that began at the age of 8 years old.
